Prayer of Salvation

Dear God, Thank you for loving me and sending your Son Jesus to die for me. I believe Jesus lived a perfect life and died in my place for my sins, was resurrected from the dead, and now lives with you in heaven.  I know that I am a sinner-that I think and say and do things against your will-and that I can never be perfect. So I am trusting Jesus Christ as my Savior and Lord forgive me of my sins, come into my heart, and live through me. Lord please give me the strength and wisdom I need to live for you and to be your witness at school, at home, and wherever I go. My heart and my life are yours. Thank you so much for your love.  Amen...

Faith vs. Fear

Now faith is being sure of what we hope for and certain of what we do not see. (Hebrews 11:1) By faith we understand that the universe was formed at God's command, so that what is seen was not made out of what was visible.  We need to understand that the enemy counterfeits everything that is of God.  Also we need to know that fear (the devil's faith) is the direct opposite of God's love (faith).  Fear and faith are equal in this dimension...Both project into the future and both demand to be filled.  We as believers need to choose which one we will live under.
Fear will prevent good things from taking place in your life.  Whenever love is absent fear is always present.  They cannot dwell at the exact same time, we will have one or the other at all times.  We cannot have light and darkness at the same time.  When we fear, we are in doubt, when we love, we are in faith. Now when you begin seeking more and more of the love of God, and applying forgivness to your life you can begin to walk without the spirit of fear.

As the Father has loved me, so have I loved you.
Now remain in my love. (John 15:9)

Life Questions:

If Jesus were to give you a nickname, what would it be? Has your personality undergone major changes? What still needs work?   (Feel free to comment you must follow first!...its fast free and easy to follow)

What Is Prayer?

The greatest power in the world today is the power of people to communicate with Almighty God. Prayer is not a scheme whereby we can move God into our lives but rather a spiritual exercise through which we draw ourselves toward God until we are a part of His plan and His purpose. The purpose of prayer is not to give you what you want when you want it but to make you the kind of person God wanted you to be when He put you on the earth.

Prayer of Submission (a type of prayer)
The act of submitting and humbling oneself before the eye of God for inspection and then submitting and humbling oneself to the will of God. (Psalms 139:23-24; Isaiah 6:8)

The Partial Fast

What is the Daniel Fast?
The Daniel Fast is a biblically based partial fast. It is a method of fasting that men, women and young people all over the world are using as they enter into the spiritual discipline of prayer and fasting.

There are two anchoring scriptures for the Daniel Fast. In Daniel 1 the Prophet ate only vegetables (that would have included fruits) and drank only water. So from these scriptures we get two of the guidelines for the fast:
1. Only fruits and vegetables
2. Only water for a beverage
Then in Daniel 10 we read that the Prophet ate no meat nor any precious breads or foods and he drank no wine for 21 days. So from this scripture, we get a third guideline:

3. No sweeteners and no breads

Another important guideline is drawn from Jewish fasting principles, where no leaven is used during the fast.  So that's why yeast, baking powder and the like are not allowed on the Daniel Fast.

Finally, with all the above puzzle pieces, we conclude that no artificial or processed foods nor any chemicals are allowed on the Daniel Fast.

When asked about the eating plan on the Daniel Fast, I often say it is a "vegan diet with even more restrictions."

Be sure to read the ingredients on labels of prepared foods to make sure they only include Daniel Fast friendly ingredients.

The Daniel Fast for the body, soul and spirit

The Bible teaches us that we are a spirit, we have a soul and we live in a body. The Daniel Fast affects all three parts of us as we enter into a period of time for focused prayer and fasting.

The Body - Certainly our bodies are effected as our diet is changed, for some in very dramatic ways, during the Daniel Fast. Many men and women experience detoxing from caffeine, chemicals and sugar. The symptoms are most often headaches, leg cramps, fatigue and malaise.

Most people lose weight during the Daniel Fast. And many report healings from diabetes, allergies, arthritis and cancer.

The Soul - Frequently referred to as "the flesh" in the Bible, the soul is also greatly impacted during the Daniel Fast. The soul is the seat of our emotions, intellect, personality and will. It is in the "soulish realm" where we experience cravings, frustration, anger . . . and even happiness.

During the Daniel Fast, your soul may very well rebel against the dramatic change in your diet. Experiencing and winning this battle over the flesh is often one of the most powerful lessons of the Daniel Fast.

The Spirit - Our spirit is that born-again part of us that surrenders to God and then abides with the Father and the Son. Our spirit is filled with the Holy Spirit when we yield to Him. During the Daniel Fast, we want to put our spirit in charge of the other two parts of us. When our flesh is acting out with a craving, we take control of it with our spirit (just as a parent takes control of a rebellious child).

Fasting is always coupled with a spiritual goal. So during this time of fasting, you will want to focus on prayer, study and meditation.
An important question to ask yourself . . .

During your Daniel Fast you will have many times when you might want to "stretch the rules" a little bit. For example, even though the guidelines say we are to drink only water . . . you conclude that herbal teas are vegetables and water is water and therefore you will go ahead and drink herbal teas during the Daniel Fast.

But I encourage you to learn a powerful spiritual lesson by asking yourself (examining your heart) the question, "Why do you want the herbal teas?"

My guess is that the answer will be, "Well I just want them. I can't drink only water. I have to have something else."

The Daniel Fast teaches us to deny our "selves" and instead put our spirit in control over our flesh. As you plan your meals and eat your food, keep in mind that the definition of a fast is to deny food for a spiritual purpose.

I was asked a question

I was asked a question…”Why are there so much more women in the church then men?”  Wow! I had to visit a few churches to see where she might feel this way.  Okay my consensus says she is on to something.
Well we have an enemy that feeds on division. Well! Our jails have 60 percent or more of them. Then, addiction to drugs, alcohol, issues like shame, guilt hate and greed bind up those guys.  Nevertheless, division is what’s between the man and the women seeking God satan sees to it.  The scripture has it that “Two are better off than one, because together they can work more effectively.  If one of them falls down, the other can help him up…two people can resist an attack that would defeat one person alone.  A rope made of three cords is hard to break”. (Ecclesiastes 4:9)  The third cord being God, in which many is unaware.  The bible says “It is God who directs the lives of His creatures everyone’s life is in His power…every other path leads to a dead end.”

A poem for men…
I wish…you knew that God loves you, and that he wants you in a place of joy! I wish… you knew your eyes are the lamp of your body so that then you would know how to guard your heart. I wish… you knew how to put on your Armor and that you are more than a conquers. I wish…you knew that he that loves his wife loves himself. I wish…you knew that God want you to be imitators and that he is your personal intercessor. I wish…you knew that His wisdom increases your joy. I wish… you knew that God is a righteous judge and that He gives ear to your words. I wish…you knew he heals the brokenhearted and guards the course of the just. I wish…you knew that God said that…he loves those that love me and those who seek me find me. I wish…you knew that he’s your father too. Selah

Humble Pie...good for you or good to you?

hum·ble: Differentially respectful.
I have personally endured many servings of humble pie in which didn't taste good.  Therefore, Humble pie plate as a delicacy or food choice for the humble. Umm! good because through trials I learned that my individual strength wasn't going to cut it.  I had to learned to submit my struggle of trying to be perfect, and my pride of wanting things done by my strength all to the will God.  Trials has a way of maturing or humbling the believer. "Trials" God said do not be surprised at the painful trial you are suffering, as though something strange were happening to you (1peter12). To be humble is to let God be in control of your life. The humble submit to the will of God by giving God first place in decisions, actions, and motives. The humble repents of sins and mourns over his disobedience. The humble don't take pride in his holiness but knows he falls short.

Continue to climb

A poem

Follow your dreams...take one step at a time and don't settle for less, just continue to climb.  Follow your dream...if you stumble, don't stop and lose sight of your goal, press and don't stop.  For only on top can we see the whole view, can we see what we've done and what we can do, can we then have the vision to seek something new...Press on, and follow your dreams.
